Maldives & its Specialties

Maldives is famous for its beautiful beaches. It is a picture-perfect holiday destination for those who seek fun in tropical beaches that essentially involve plenty of other fascinating activities. This island is located in the southwest side of Sri Lanka and India, and is in the middle of Indian Ocean. Owing to the regular and frequent traffic of tourists in the island, it is now filled with many exotic resorts and recreational institutions.

The turquoise coral reefs, blue sea, bright & blue sky, sandy beaches and palm trees make this island majestic in terms of natural beauty. It is a holistic representation of natural paradise at its best. The cultural profiles of inhabitants in the country include the likes of Sinhalese, South Indian and Arabic.

Activities

The island has some tantalizing coral reefs which are abundant in marine life. This has effectively created a Diving spot in the Maldives for reputed scuba divers and enthusiasts. There is a vast number of fishes that can be seen in the underwater currents, namely parrotfish, napoleon wrasse, jacks, snappers and sweetlips etc. The current sweep channels and pinnacles act like magnets for marine life at the diving sites. The channels consists of caves, caverns, overhangs, invertebrates, and sponges etc. which render an unexplainable experience.

Maldives surfing point is another attraction that brings in a lot of tourist crowd into the island country. There are some exotic pints, especially the pasta point which is appropriate for surfing at any point of time in any tide. Then the sultans and honky’s have the waves that are considered among the most fun ones on this planet.

The beach and spa centers along the course of such sites make the place more desirable. Furthermore, there are over-water bars, beach-side restaurants etc. which elevates the charm of Maldives to a great extent.

Cuisine

Unsurprisingly, the local cuisine revolves around fish and coconut dishes. A part of the crowd is also into curries, most likely to have drifted from the Indian counterpart. A mix of both worlds is the correct term here. Almost all the famous types of marine food are available in the island, and some of the joints are popular for serving mouth-watering dishes.

Other Availabilities

Apart from shells, fish food, fishes and coconuts, there is a wide array of sugar, rice and starch products available in the local market of the country. The temperature is at constant 30 degree Celsius throughout the year which is typical of a tropical climate. This ensures an abundance of sunshine at all the time. However, light showers are often seen and heavy rains prevail during monsoons – A moderate and coastal climate, best suited for relaxing and rejuvenating personal senses.
